  • Issues while overseas

By I liked the old app better
The app seems to work fine while I’m in the USA, but he issues with it overseas. Also, it used to be so easy to download the paper to read off-line. What happened to that easy option?

    Terrible update.
  • Too big for screen

Paper display is way bigger than screen resulting in having to scroll down on every page to read the paper. There is no option to have paper size fit screen. Suggested solution is to go to settings and view on internet browser. Older version was way better.
  • New E-News is Not User-Friendly

I hope that this review is actually captured and submitted after writing it. The new e-newspaper format is not working as simply as the previous format - links do not connect (e.g. printing an article or crossword puzzle, emailing an article, etc.). The internet format and reading format do not sync well, and I’m often kicked out of the edition that I’m reading and have to start over again. What was the News trying to accomplish with this new format? It’s almost to the point that we are seriously considering cancelling the DMN e-paper which is a shame, because we do like receiving daily news, sports, and entertainment, IF we can access it.
  • Liberal Democrat News

This newspaper is extremely bias toward Democrats. They always publish anti conservative articles. It’s a good way to keep in touch with how the leftist liberal mind is working. They will always endorse Democrats during elections. It’s not an unbiased newspaper by any means. No wonder why they are a dying entity. This is Texas, not NY or California.

I hate it. I want to see the whole page at one time.
  • I Miss the Old App

The latest update has ruined my reading experience. My subscription cost continues to climb and now I have ads that take up 30% of my viewing screen at all times.

UPDATE:new version sucks! Well it appears that most of my objections have been fixed in the latest version, released today, 6/23. However, a single tap brings up the text version of the article, not just an enlarged single-page version of the newspaper version. At least it is the entire article which used to require a double-tap in the old, "Olive" version. Also missing is the link on the continuation page that takes you back to the original page, which I found very convenient. What is laughable is the update being described as "minor bug fixes." Really!? Many people, including me, had threatened to cancel their subscriptions if these so-called bugs were not fixed. That doesn't sound minor to me. These were major feature additions. PREVIOUSLY POSTED: This version is so much worse than the previous version. Old version brought up an enlarged version of article with links to the continuation of it on a different page. Double tap would bring up the Internet version of the ENTIRE article. This version brings up one page of article with no links to continuation. One must manually move to the continuation page. This morning, 6/18, today's version of the articles were unavailable. Instead yesterday's version came up when clicking on Read Now. I couldn't even read the front page Father's Day article. This problem appears to have been fixed, but if the additional issues mentioned above are not corrected, I will be seeking a refund for my digital only subscription. It is ridiculous that this new (alpha) version was released before it was ready for Prime Time. This is not even a beta version. I wonder if the missing links were intentional (though developer says they will come back in future version). This gives credence to my comment about releasing it before it was properly tested. Missing links cause reader to have to page through the paper as with the hard copy edition, thus exposing the reader to the ads (just a thought). Also, simple computation with the "Go to page" tool at the top eliminates the page turning if you want to avoid the ads.
